Xero jam session
Every Christmas while visiting family in the Bay of Plenty, Craig our CTO makes raspberry jam (perhaps a surprising non-work activity for a geek!).
He’s very proud of it and sometimes lets a select few have a small jar of their own.
A few at Xero have been lucky enough to try the jam and there’s definitely some jealousy among those who haven’t! Then Simon’s partner heard about Craig’s jam apparently being ‘the best jam in the world’ so sent Simon into work one morning with a jar of her plum jam, and a note informing Craig that in fact her jam was the best jam in the world. She threw down the gauntlet for ‘the CTO vs the stay-at-home Mother’ jam-off!
News of this challenge spread like wild-fire around Xero and the Twitterverse and things have escalated. From the one-on-one challenge, to a team morning tea involving a 3rd jam made by Susanne (that Rowena would provide scones for) to finally a full public jam tasting event to be held at Mojo Old Bank Arcade next Tuesday at 11.30am with an MC and all! Craig is beginning to worry just how far his one last precious jar of jam will spread. Some of his jam followers lucky enough to taste the famous raspberry jam in the past are already on Twitter pre-voting! So if you’re downtown Wellington next Tuesday feel free to come along and see if there’s any jam left.
This does leave poor Simon (who was just delivering the jar of plum jam in the first place) in a difficult situation – will he choose his partner’s jam or his boss’s jam as the best?!

Of course Craig’s will be the best otherwise he will be letting the Walker name down, not that his Mum can make jam – mind you I didn’t get to taste this lot!!!!!!
