Supercharged in Malaysia: Xero Asia Roadshow wraps up in Kuala Lumpur

And just like that, we’ve wrapped up this year’s multi-stop Asia Roadshow! Last month, we kicked things off with a high-energy afternoon in Singapore – and last week, we ended things on a high note with an equally exciting morning in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

Just like in Singapore, our Malaysia Roadshow was a jam-packed event offering rich insights on AI, the future of accounting and bookkeeping, and how Xero can help practices in Asia navigate this new chapter. 

A massive thank you to the nearly 1,100 accountants and bookkeepers (ABs) who joined us across our Singapore and Malaysia shows. The energy in both cities was incredible, and we hope you picked up new learnings on how to best leverage Xero and our wider ecosystem to better support your clients.

Supercharged Sessions: AI, E-invoicing and More

Similar to our Singapore stop, the day offered an exciting mix of future-gazing keynotes, critical compliance updates and practical Xero showcases designed to help ABs and their clients thrive.

We heard from Koren Wines, Xero Asia’s Managing Director, on how AI is transforming the future of accounting, allowing advisors to pivot away from compliance and grunt work, towards high-value strategic counsel. She was joined by a very special guest – the adorable Pepper the robot!

Koren’s address was brilliantly complemented by Dr Catherine Ball’s keynote which gave an illuminating glimpse into what a digital-first reality will look like for industry professionals in the very near future.

We then moved into an afternoon hearing focused on how Xero can help practices in the region supercharge their work – from product enhancements, to workflow hacks to best practices. Through our Xero showcase, our Syft-focused demo session and our panel featuring our Malaysian Xero Partner Advisory Council, we showed the different ways Xero empowers ABs and their clients to be more efficient, productive and competitive.

A particular highlight of the afternoon was our session on the e-invoicing mandate in Malaysia. Navigating evolving tax regulations is a crucial yet often overlooked tenet of what our partners do. We designed this session to be a comprehensive look at the latest requirements, as well as functionalities within Xero that can help practices and the small businesses they serve remain compliant.

Throughout the day, the exhibition floor was teeming with activity, featuring some of Xero’s most innovative app partners:

• MuRho – Enhances inventory management with their cloud-based Store N Track System, built with multi UOM, barcode scanning technology, multi-location traceability and more.
• Payboy – A highly versatile and mobile human resources management software that handles payroll, leave, claims and rosters.
• RHB Bank Berhad – A leading Malaysian bank with a recently-launched direct feed integrated into Xero, allowing Xero users with an RHB account to access their banking data from within our platform.
• Storehub – An all-in-one platform that enables retailers and restaurants across Southeast Asia to automate and grow their businesses, providing solutions from a POS system to QR-based table ordering.
• Talenox – A cloud-based HR software allowing the centralised management of payroll, leave and employee data.

These partners are on the cutting edge of technology, offering powerful, seamless solutions that integrate directly into the Xero platform. They are crucial to the future of accounting, providing transformational tools that help ABs and their clients elevate their businesses.
