Working with our large national accounting partners, I’m always inspired by their willingness to learn and grow. But our recent event with Moore Accounting was something truly special.
We delivered our first-ever in-person, partner-hosted certification training at their offices in Johannesburg. This was the first time globally that Xero’s newly refreshed certification framework was delivered in-person.
This was a special event, and not just because it was a first. Welcoming all 145 of their team members, all in one room, brought an incredible amount of energy and enthusiasm. This has been a personal goal of mine for some time, and to see it come to fruition with such a valued partner was truly rewarding.
Our relationship with Moore is one we value deeply; it’s built on a shared desire to learn and grow together. This event was a perfect example of that principle in action.
Seeing a firm of Moore’s stature commit to having almost the whole firm (145 team members) complete the new Xero certification is a powerful statement. This goes far beyond just ticking a box. It is a significant investment in their people. It demonstrates their forward-thinking approach and unwavering dedication to giving their teams the skills they need to deliver exceptional service and unlock the full power of Xero for themselves and their clients.
Guided by customer feedback, we’ve reimagined the Xero Certification with a simpler, more valuable, multi-level framework that develops expertise from beginner to expert.
We’ve refreshed the structure and the content for both our advisor and Payroll certifications and we’ve added new digital badges, to give you the best and most up-to-date learning experience. It’s flexible, tailored, and respects your time, so you can focus on building the skills that matter most to you.
The new framework is open to accountants, bookkeepers, small businesses, and students. No longer just ‘advisors’. You can also choose how you want to learn: take a self-paced digital course, join a live webinar, or jump straight to the assessment.
The three levels of Xero Certification are:
Level 1: Xero Certified Associate: Introducing the fundamental knowledge needed to enter basic financial information, getting you set up and using Xero quickly.
Level 2: Xero Professional Certification: Deepen your knowledge of complex features, building your confidence in maintaining accurate transactions for period end reporting.
Level 3: Xero specialist certification: Coming in 2026, this level helps you to upskill on the complete suite of advanced features and tools to run and manage your business entirely on Xero.
For me and the entire Xero team, this is an incredibly proud moment. It signifies the strength of our relationship with Moore Accounting and our shared commitment to success.
