@Morgan, I’ve been developing timesheets for a long time, and time billing is a little way off, but I’ve never seen people allocate time against a quote! Don’t suppose it’s impossible though. Perhaps put it in our community feature requests?

We’re doing some rebuilding work on the payroll API at the moment. Once that is done, we’ll work through all the integration possibilities with the WfM guys in Auckland.

Hi @Paul, I think you require multiple levels of what we call tracking in a timesheet. We’ll definitely look at this when we come to time billing but at the moment we only allow for time to be accrued against one level of tracking category. If you have employees that are always just doing 1 project, then you can put them in an employee group, and the result in the draft invoice will be 2 levels of tracking against the P&L and Balance Sheet. What we probably won’t do though is linking the second level of tracking against the first. I imagine that would be out of scope, and a third party app would be the way to go.

Hi @Charles, we’re currently working on rebuilding all our payroll reports to bring them right in to line with the lovely reports that are elsewhere in Xero. Look out for this next year.

@Chris, this is the step in quite a journey towards time billing. I understand that this doesn’t work for you today, and probably won’t for quite some time, but rest assured we are working on it. In the mean time we’re looking to support MYOB activity slips early next year, and there’s no reason we can’t look at importing from Freshbooks. By all means, add it to our feature requests so we get a view of the number of customers that might utilise such a feature.
