Invoicing on the run

Today we’ve released the latest version of Xero Touch, available now on your touch-enabled smartphone at https://m.xero.com. We’ve also submitted a bundled up iOS version to the Apple App Store, which may take a few days to get approved, but fingers-crossed it should be on your iPhone by the end of next week.

The new release includes a host of improvements and a great new feature: Inventory Items. You’ll now be able, while on the go, to quickly choose previously entered Inventory Items when creating invoices. It drastically cuts down on data entry and avoids mistakes when entering invoice line items as any defaults against that Inventory Item are automatically applied. Inventory Items will either autocomplete as you type them in, or if you prefer, you can pull up a full list of Inventory Items to scan through and choose from.

If you haven’t used Inventory Items before, check out our earlier blog and how-to video. Once you’ve loaded your Inventory Items into Xero, they’ll be available to be used on Touch.

We’ve got some great stuff in the pipeline and you can expect to see more frequent releases of Xero Touch in the future.

Thks Xero this is awesome news now can bill my clients when in cab/train or on the beach . Have one client who will kiss the API team’s feet for releasing this upgrade.

Being able to gather data anywhere and at any time is the future, together with automating as much of a business back-end processes. What’s there not to like about Xero?

Hmm.. the bottom bar isn’t showing up for me (iPhone 4S, latest software) so I can’t create an invoice..?

Looks awesome in the video, but I can’t see any way to even create an invoice, let alone use inventory items. I can all my existing contacts and invoices, but that’s it.

@Jack – You can try it out on Android – there should be a link to login to Xero Touch, but we admit that the Android experience is not yet as good as we’d like it to be. We have a mobile specialist actively working on improving the Android experience.

@Blair – Bank transactions aren’t yet visible in Xero Touch but it’s something we’ll be adding soon. You may be thinking of our old mobile site – which is usable on older devices – but isn’t touch-optimised.

@Blair & @Ronan – If you’re having trouble and restarting your browser doesn’t fix the issue, please get in touch with our customer care team with details on the handset your using – they’ll be able to help you troubleshoot any problems.

It would be good if TOuch gave the ability to adjust an auto generated invoice number field. Touch doesn’t seem to give this option.

Seems like creating better inventory / importing of invoiced item, etc. would take priority over cute phone apps. I used iPad when ouot of office, and Xero works fine, so i doubt ill ever use the phone app (small screen for accounting)

Inventory drive the P&L and Balance sheet. Critical for accounting software.

Hope this is a priority
