The final stages : Paycycle HTML

The next release of Paycycle – soon to be Xero Payroll in Australia –  is coming along really nicely. Judging by the progress over the last few weeks we’ll be able to announce a release date very shortly.

As we’ve discussed previously, the focus for this release has been to retire our Silverlight based application and replace it with a new fancy HTML front end. If you’re an existing Paycycle user, you’ll be familiar with just about all of the functionality in the release.

To give you an idea of how the new interface will look, we’ve put together this quick video:

We’ve also finalised our pricing for integrated payroll, which is coming towards the end of the first half of 2012. For Australian customers, integrated payroll will be available for one employee under the Small Plan, up to 20 employees on the Medium Plan and unlimited employees on the Large Plan, which also includes automatic superannuation payments. There won’t be any changes to the current pricing for Xero plans.

Stay tuned for our release date!

  5. No clue about the software but music “born to be big” from Soundroll – Audio jungle is great.

  6. Hey Stuart,
Is time recording going to be available by the staff members themselves with this release?

by Taryn on Nov 26, 2011 at 8:52 am

  7. Hi Taryn,

Not in this release, sorry. We need to get over the initial program of removing Silverlight, then we’re moving on to the integrated platform, then we can focus on new feature development.

    Stuart.

  9. @John,

No plans at the moment. We already work with a number of add-ons in the UK. They can be found at http://www.xero.com/advisors/solutions/payroll/

  10. Great stuff. Has been Xero user for more than a year now and i’m loving it. Hope you could allow people from outside Australia to use the payroll functions and able to import employee’s timesheets from excel to Xero’s Payroll. Cheers!

  11. Thanks for your feedback @Alman. Feel free to add your feature request here http://support.paycycle.com.au/forums/176561-feature-requests. We’ll be able to get to these after the completion of the integrated version.

  12. Intergrataed payroll in Xero without a change to the current pricing is music to my ears. I believe this is another great reason to make to move to Xero.
Thanks team Xero for listening to your users.

  13. Integrated payroll for the UK would be very popular – do you have any plans?

  16. Hi @Noel,

    Yep, no problems at all.

  17. Hi guys!

You keep on postponing the release… disappointing… Used to be November, then December, then January then sometime in fist quater 2012, not it is March.

    Kind regards,
    Nick Dorogavtsev.

  18. Hi @Nick,

Not true. We’ve always said integrated release for Paycycle and Xero in Q1 Calendar Year 2012, and we’re still aiming for that. We would have liked to have got an HTML release out and turned off Silverlight a little than we have, however we’ve bought a lot of the work forward than we would have had to do next year anyway. So as far as we’re concerned, everything is on track.

    Cheers,

    Stuart.

  20. Hi,

it was hard to tell from the video. will payroll for xero be able to calculate tax and leave accrual automatically?

by Hiba on Dec 19, 2011 at 7:58 pm

  21. Hi @Hiba,

Yes of course! Check out paycycle.com.au for all the “old” features that will be coming in to the Xero integrated product.

  22. I am actually wiating for pay-cycle before investing. Love the HTML 5 look and the much friendlier team, attitude that Xero takes as compared to its private equity owned bigger brother. Pay Cycle is essential because if its done manually and mistakes are made, they can be very costly.

by Richard on Dec 20, 2011 at 2:03 am

  23. Hi, we are going to have all of our timesheet/job costing through WorkflowMax – will this be able to integrate at all with PayCycle? Also, is anything like this on the horizon for NZ companies? Thanks for the good work!

by Shannon on Dec 20, 2011 at 10:25 am

  24. As I only have a few employes (3) I could not justify the cost for the stand alone payroll product. You say no price change but does that mean that once integrated I will have payroll without paying any more is there only no change for those subscribed to the other product.

Also will it be able to handle contractors?
