Google Single Sign-On
Google has made it incredibly simple to run your business in the cloud – whether you’re checking emails, sharing documents or creating your next presentation. At Xero we share this passion to be able to do business wherever you are.
We already support a number of Google friendly features. All Xero reports can be exported to Google Docs, and Contacts can be displayed in Google Maps.
To streamline your online experience even more, we’ve taken it to the next stage.
If you have a Google Apps login, all you need to do is add Xero from the Google Marketplace. Now instead of having to login to Google and Xero separately, you can navigate seamlessly between the two without having to log in twice (single sign-on or SSO in techie speak) – how convenient and simple is that?

My Google Apps login already takes me into Capsule CRM which is integrated with Xero so this is a welcome addition
WOW. With the modern practice aligning with Microsoft 365 I thought us goggle users were going by the way side. This has just brightened my day, thank you.

Excellent – that works well thanks. If you’re looking for something to do now how about mail integration so we can see a mini statement when we get an email from a customer or supplier?
@Shawn, we believe people will use both Google Docs and Office 365. Most accountants will need the rich document management features of Office 365 but that does not rule out using Google Docs for collaboration. So we’ll continue to work with both Google and Microsoft.

@Rod, as an accountant I agree The Office 365 doc management features are nice. However, Google has a slew of free and lower cost addon’s. for example, we are currently testing insightly.
Hi Shawn.Yes. We agree. We’ll give you both options.
Very cool you’re into this.

Will you be looking at using your current google apps integration to sync contacts? So that any contacts created in Google contacts sync to Xero and vice versa? Once the sync is in place, the service could be used to push contact data to other devices such as an iPhone. Allowing the phone to auto detect incoming calls against stored contacts.
Would also allow google apps to act as a central sync point for contacts and subsequent additions of services such as mail chimp.
It would be great to see support for OpenID in addition to Google. Some OpenID providers, like Verisign PIP, offer two-factor authentication.
just tried it out and got this
