Christmas bank feeds

Over the Christmas/New Year period we expect that automatic bank feeds will be suspended by your bank to coincide with the statutory (bank) holidays. On the days when the feeds resume they will include statement data from all of the days they were suspended.

This seems odd to me.

Why do machines need a holiday?

Surely it would make more sense if they just imported as usual but there were no transactions – like a Sunday for example.

Still, thanks for the heads up.

Hi Peter,

Most of the banks only provide feeds 5 days a week throughout the year. ASB, Kiwibank and some HSBC accounts are the exception, and give us data seven days a week.

The 5-day-a-week banks treat the statutory holidays as weekend days, so their transactions will come through to us a day after the long weekend.

It would be good to get transactions every day, but we have to wait for the banks overnight processing to complete
