Several days ago I did my first ever presentation! It was for the Australian Investor Relations Association (AIRA) course ‘The Essentials of a Successful Investor Relations Programme’ hosted at the NZX. I was SO nervous but as I’m growing our Xero community and as the presentation was part of a panel on new ways of communicating with investors using technology and social media, for just 10 minutes, I thought I’d be able to manage it.
Apart from my knees buckling and stopping me in my tracks when I got to the top of Civic Square and saw the NZX building, I managed to keep the nerves at bay and told the conference participants how we use our blog and Twitter to communicate with our customers. I was really chuffed the next day when one of the people who’d heard my presentation did their first Tweet and told me that I’d inspired them to give it a go!
Here’s a podcast of my slides and presentation, and we’ve even got an iPod/iPhone version (m4v 17.7MB) if you want to download it and listen or watch on the train on the way home! It’s about 13 minutes long.
