HI Maree. API stands for Application Programming Interface. It’s the interface and format that allows other software products to communicate directly with Xero. As an example a payroll software provider can ‘automagically’ send payroll accounting entries to Xero after they complete a payrun in their system.
So as well as you working with Xero through the web user interface – other programs can talk to us as well.
