Xero Heads South
We weren’t content just showcasing Xero to you in Auckland – the traditional home of the Small Business Expo – so we attended the Wellington leg of the largest meeting for small businesses in New Zealand.
Now we’re heading south for the Christchurch Small Business Expo!
The three-day small business bonanza is the first one to be hosted in the Garden City – the region with the second highest amount of small businesses in the country, behind Auckland. The expo promises a range of interactive displays, seminars, mentoring, and business support products and services across an array of industries.
These expos are a vital business to business marketplace for New Zealand’s small businesses, as a means of bringing together small business owners and providing support, development and advice.
Almost 12,000 people attended the events in Auckland and Wellington.
Organisers of the Wellington event Sarah Trotman & Associates found that 50% of attendees had conducted business with exhibitors and of those that hadn’t conducted business yet 74% said they intended to do so. This is the first time that the capital had hosted this event and it was great to hear that 96% rated their experience of the expo as excellent, good or satisfactory.
